Every Saturday that we can, my daughter and I go to the Farmer's Market and hit as many yard sales as we can. Today she had to go to work at noon so we only had about two and a half hours to look for bargains. These are my finds for today. The green material is actually four dark green, lined curtain panels that I bought for $4.00 (that's an amazing $1.00 a panel!) for my son's new apartment. He works nights and needs something to keep the light out while he sleeps. I will have to shorten them as they are 60 inches long and his windows are only 32 inches. I'm going to see if I can make a valance and curtain for the kitchen out of the remaining material. The lamp, with lampshade was $6.00. It is wrought iron, very heavy... also for my son's apartment... the only room in his apartment with overhead lighting is the kitchen. This lamp will go in his bedroom. Both of these goodies were found at a church thrift shop that we just discovered. It was amazing and we can't wait to go back next week when we have more time to check out all their goodies. Everything is super organized and clearly priced and all of the proceeds go to a mission project that the church is involved with.
Farmer's Market finds were fresh peaches and tomatoes... yum! Can't wait to have a tomato sandwich for lunch tomorrow! The yellow fruit is yellow plums. I have never heard of or seen them. I am not a plum lover but my husband and one of my grandsons love them. Has anyone else ever heard of them?
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. Thanks for dropping by!
