The Jonas Brothers co-wrote 'Sucker' with another famous musician

While The Jonas Brothers helped write their hit single, they had some help from award-winning writers and producers. According to songfacts.com, the brothers wrote "Sucker" with OneRepublic frontman, Ryan Tedder. Frank Dukes and Louis Bell produced the music for this Jonas Brothers' song.

Aside from working with OneRepublic, Ryan Tedder also wrote songs like Beyonce's "Halo," Adele's "Rumour Has It," and Leona Lewis' "Bleeding Love." He won multiple "Album of the Year" Grammy Awards, for his work on Taylor Swift's 1989 and Adele's 21 and 25.

Frank Dukes and Louis Bell worked on projects for other accomplished artists, like Post Malone and Camila Cabello. Frank Dukes also worked with The Weeknd. There's no word on whether Frank Dukes and Louis Bell worked on The Jonas Brothers' new album, Happiness Begins, which premieres in summer 2019.

Priyanka Chopra, Danielle Jonas, and Sophie Turner star in the music video for 'Sucker'

The "Sucker" music video, released on February 28, 2019, has over 136 million views on YouTube. The over-the-top video features the Jonas Brothers and their now-wives, Priyanka Chopra, Danielle Jonas, and Sophie Turner, dressed in avant-garde costumes, enjoying a colorful tea party together.

Following "Sucker," the band released a second single, entitled "Cool." This chill song is already hot on the charts, earning almost 40 million plays on Spotify. Their 80s inspired music video has over 34 million views on YouTube.

It even gives a nod to Joe Jonas' wife, Sophie Turner, with lyrics that say, "Oh, I feel like Post Malone when I get home / Sittin' there, winning like it's Game of Thrones / And now that we've made it, how complicated was last year?"

When does their new album, 'Happiness Begins' premiere?

The Jonas Brothers' newest album, entitled Happiness Begins, drops June 7, 2019. The eldest Jonas Brother, Kevin Jonas, posted on social media about their impending album.

"After 7 years of not working together living life and finding ourselves in our own paths we came back to give you our journey in album form," Kevin Jonas wrote on Instagram. I'm so excited for you to hear Happiness Begins out June 7th. I have to say out of all the albums we have done together I'm the most proud of this one."

The summer, The Jonas Brothers embark on their "Happiness Begins" tour, beginning in August 2019, and running until December 2019. These live performances will be the brothers' tenth concert tour and will include some of the most prominent venues in the United States, including Madison Square Garden.

Until then, the Jonas Brothers can be seen on YouTube, playing "Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts" with James Corden and performing "Sucker" on Saturday Night Live.

Lord Jamar Nails Why Removal Of 'Old Town Road' From Country Music Chart Was Racist - HuffPost

Posted: 20 May 2019 01:11 PM PDT

Rapper Lord Jamar slammed the argument that racism wasn't behind Billboard's removal of Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" from its country music chart in March.

DJ Vlad, host of a popular YouTube show, made that claim in an interview with Lord Jamar. The artist deftly rebuffed DJ Vlad and broke down the double standards involved.

"We as black people are quick to let white people into our shit and do our shit and we're accepting," he said. Lil Nas X "wanna do a country-esque thing and get on the Billboard charts and they said, 'No you don't, black man.'"

The rapper added, "He's not white enough. It's not that [the song] wasn't country enough. He wasn't white enough, even though black people created country music."

Lord Jamar pointed out that conversely, white artists like Post Malone and the Beastie Boys had been accepted into hip-hop.

While contributions by black artists to country music have long been mostly ignored in the mainstream narratives on the genre, such influences were central to its creation and evolution. In the book "My Country: The African Diaspora's Country Music Heritage," author Pamela Foster notes that banjos, fiddles and harmonicas ― key parts of much of country music ― were the primary instruments played by blacks in the antebellum South.

"Unfortunately, history has distorted these facts to make people believe jazz, blues and spirituals were the staples of black culture at that time when, in fact, it was country," Foster wrote.

Willie Nelson himself has noted how the late legendary artist Ray Charles did "more for country music than any other living being."

"Here's Ray Charles doing country songs, introducing those songs to millions and millions of people who, otherwise, would have never had a chance to hear them," Nelson told CBS News of Charles' seminal 1962 album, "Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music."

Still, black artists have been frequently excluded from the genre that their own culture helped cultivate. In 2016, Beyonce performed with the Dixie Chicks at the Country Music Awards. Though the artist is widely revered, her presence wasn't exactly welcomed at the ceremony ― it prompted a barrage of criticisms from social media users as well as some less-than-pleased expressions from CMA audience members.

Billboard justified its banishment of "Old Town Road" from its country chart by saying the song "does not embrace enough elements of today's country music."

Video: DJ Khaled – “Wish Wish” (ft. Cardi B & 21 Savage) - SPIN

Posted: 20 May 2019 09:24 AM PDT

Fresh off a weekend that saw DJ Khaled release his eleventh studio album, Father of Asahd, and put up a star-studded performance on Saturday Night Live, the DJ/motivational speaker has shared a new music video for the Cardi B and 21 Savage-assisted track "Wish Wish." The fire and motorcycle-heavy visual also seems to act as an uber-expensive commercial for brands like Fashion Nova and Ciroc, but hey, the budget has to come from somewhere right?

"Wish Wish" is the latest single to come from Father of Asahd, following the previous release of "Higher," featuring John Legend and the late rapper Nipsey HussleFather of Asahd also features verses from Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Nas, Travis Scott, Future, Post Malone, Chance the Rapper, SZA, Meek Mill, Lil Wayne, Big Sean, Jeremih, J Balvin, and more. For the season finale of SNL, Khaled led a medley of songs from the new album, including "Just Us" "Weather the Storm," and "Higher," and brought out a number of guests for a tribute to Hussle, who died last month. Watch the video for "Wish Wish" below.

"And I oop" memes are going viral thanks to RuPaul's Drag Race icon Jasmine Masters - PopBuzz

RuPaul's Drag Race legend Jasmine Masters is responsible for the "And I oop" meme...

"And I oop" memes are breaking the internet and they're all inspired by Jasmine Masters from RuPaul's Drag Race.

The best memes of 2019 so far...

Meme culture never ceases to amaze us. Memes can be inspired by everything from hit TV shows (Game of Thrones) to wild YouTube beauty vlogger feuds (the James Charles and Tati Westbrook drama). However, more often than not, memes come from places you'd never expect. Just recently, people revived Nicki Minaj's 2012 promo single 'Roman Holiday' in meme form. And now, fans have transformed a quote from Drag Race legend Jasmine Masters into an iconic meme.

Where did the "And I oop" meme come from?

The funniest "And I oop" memes inspired by RuPaul&squot;s Drag Race icon Jasmine Masters

The "And I oop" meme is inspired by a Jasmine Masters video from 2015 called 'Jasmine Masters handle your liquor'. In the video Jasmine calls out friends of hers who drink too much when they socialise. The speech is classic Jasmine Masters but she interrupts herself at the end of it and says "And I oop". She then composes herself and afterwards explains: "I hit my balls" before finishing the YouTube video.

Since then the video has been viewed over 325,000 times and the "And I oop" clip has popped up on social media often but, recently, the clip has gone into overdrive and it's become an iconic meme. Some of the "And I oop" memes use the original clip, others simply use the written phrase and then there are those which exist beyond the realm of words. Here are the funniest "and I oop" memes so far.

Let's start with a real reason to "And I oop"...

We've all done this.

Now for a much more specific one.

We see no lies.

Game of Thrones obviously made its way into the meme.

She really didn't see that coming.

Pigs are in on the meme too.

Why is this so adorable?

Owls as well.

...and I hoot.

A meme for all the mythological nerds out there.

Facts.

This is for the ladies.

I...

Titanic definitely has an "And I oop" moment.

THERE WAS ROOM ON THE RAFT!

Hunger Games hive assemble.

Still crying about Rue's death.

Beyhive assemble!

Wow. What a moment.

The edits of the meme really work.

Lady Gaga is that you?

I don't even know what to say about this one.

Ffssssss.

People can't stop thinking about the meme.

Guilty.

I mean really.

This shouldn't be relatable and yet it is.

A chorus of "And I oop".

Heavenly.

Kehlani renamed the meme.

Anna Ou is friends with Noah Fence.

Essentially...

...it's a way of life.

And Jasmine Masters is watching.

Justice for Jasmine Masters balls.

Korean street karaoke takes hold at The Source OC in Buena Park - Los Angeles Times

In 2015, BJ Chanhyun, 34, first live-streamed his street karaoke show on the streets of Hongdae, an area of Seoul known for its bustling arts and indie music scene. It was originally meant to be a one-time thing but proved popular with viewers. He recruits people on the street to perform karaoke, an audience (also seen on camera) inevitably gathers behind the singers, and people can watch the event online and comment in real time.

Emilia Clarke on meeting Beyoncé and intro for May 20, 2019 - LaineyGossip

Posted: 20 May 2019 06:59 AM PDT

Dear Gossips,

SPOILERS AHEAD

There have been several series this year that have stuck their landings: Crazy Rich Girlfriend and Broad City first, then Veep last weekend. Did Game of Thrones stick the landing? Did it have to? Maybe the better question is what they thought a stuck landing looked like vs what the audience was expecting a stuck landing to look like.

If we're talking about cinematography and spectacle, the finale episode delivered on some truly magnificent shots, one in particular will go on and be memed forever.

If we're talking about story though…

"What unites people? Armies? Gold? Flags?"

This is what Tyrion rhetorically asked the council. His answer: "Stories."

Tyrion was referring to who best to nominate as the new king. But it's also how Game of Thrones is being judged. If storytelling was the goal, I don't know if we can call it a stuck landing. If we're sticking with the figure skating metaphor, they stuck the landing, sure, but only after popping the intended triple axel. The ending may make a lot of sense (and Sarah's analysis is coming up) but the storytelling that got them there didn't support it.

"What unites people? Armies? Gold? Flags?"

Stories?

Is that ironic?

I'll tell you what unites people: Beyoncé!

Emilia Clarke spoke to The New Yorker a few days ago for an interview that was released just as the final episode of Game of Thrones concluded last night to talk about how she felt about Daenerys Targaryen's arc. The piece opens with how she worried about disappointing Beyoncé – it happened at Beyoncé and Jay-Z's now annual Oscar after-party, now known as the best Oscar after-party:

"I see this vision, this angel, this incredible woman float towards me," Clarke recalled the other day. "I can't quite control myself. And Beyoncé says to me, 'Oh, my goodness, it's so wonderful to meet you. I think you're brilliant.' I just couldn't handle it! I was on the verge of tears. I could see myself reflected in her eyes. I could see her go, 'Oh, no. I misjudged this. This girl is crazy and I'm not going to have a real conversation with another celebrity. I'm having a conversation with a crazed fan who's looking at me like a rabbit in the headlights.' Which is exactly what I was. I said, 'I've seen you live in concert and I think you're amazing and wonderful! Wonderful!' And all I wanted to scream was 'Please, please still like me even though my character turns into a mass-killing dictator! Please still think that I'm representing women in a really fabulous way.'"

Does Beyoncé think they did Dany dirty? I would think so, yes. Would she hold it against Emilia Clarke? Of course not. Emilia Clarke acted the sh-t out of her scenes this season. She made those scenes better than they deserved to be.

That's two formidable women who play two of the most intriguing characters on television named to the TIME 100 talking about their work in terms of pleasing Beyoncé in the space of a month. The other one was Sandra Oh

Beyoncé of House Knowles, First of her Name, the Irreplaceable, Queen of the Stage and the First Children of Destiny, Khaleesi of the Lone Star State, She Breaks Chains All By Herself, Mother of the Blue Ivy Carter and the Holy Twins, and now…the Golden Totem for Women at Work.

More on Game of Thrones to follow and some royal and YouTube gossip before I wrap on this light day of posting.

Yours in gossip,

Lainey

Last summer Drake gave us the In My Feelings viral trend and this year, Beyonce has blessed us with the Before I Let Go dance challenge and it is litty (in her famous words).

The Formation singer posted her first ever Instagram Story on Tuesday for her 127 million followers, to declare the #BeforeILetGo challenge an official dance trend.

With a yellow background of course, Beyonce, 37, posted the heart eyes and bee emojis along with the hashtag, which was all the Beyhive needed before they rushed to practice the slick moves.

Beyonce's clearly been keeping a close eye on social media over the past week as she then shared several of her favourite attempts at the dance challenge.

Most include fans dancing to the party bopper in their living rooms and in the street, but one features a large crowd dancing in the middle of an arena.

So it's already epic.

The dance challenge stems from the release of Beyonce's cover of Maze's 1995 classic Before I Let Go.

The remix debuted at the end of her Netflix documentary Homecoming, which arrived last week, and features an interpolation of Cameo's iconic dancefloor filler Candy making for the perfect combination of two hits.

Bey's cover is sure to be played at BBQs, birthdays and club dancefloors all summer and it's likely that her celebrity fans will be giving it a try too, much like they did with Drake's In My Feelings dance challenge which took off in 2018.

Before I Let Go appears on Homecoming: The Live Album, which was released last week as a special surprise for fans.

As if that wasn't enough, Beyonce released her 2016 album Lemonade to Spotify earlier today and includes the original demo of Sorry.

Bey sure knows how to spoil us.
